We provide affordable summer housing accommodations

IU Indianapolis offers a variety of options for your company, organization, or event needing housing accommodations in the downtown Indianapolis area. We offer a multitude of rooming options and amenities that meet most needs at a budget-friendly price point.

From mid-May through early August, the Summer Conference Housing team offers traditional residence hall spaces, rooms with private bathrooms, as well as fully furnished apartments. Previous groups have included youth camps/programs, internships, conferences, retreats, and more. We’d love to talk to you to see if we are a good fit for your needs.

Our facilities

All facilities come furnished with:

Twin XL beds (full-sized beds in Riverwalk Apartments)

North Hall

This building offers traditional residence hall spaces with shared floor bathrooms and single or double occupancy rooms. Multiple male, female, and gender-neutral pod-style restroom and shower facilities are on each floor. North Hall also features multiple small lounges on every floor for communal gatherings and two classroom spaces that can be reserved for programs, activities, and meetings for an additional fee.

Ball Hall

This historic building offers traditional residence hall spaces with shared floor bathrooms and single, double, or triple occupancy rooms. The facility offers a large, welcoming lobby with plenty of space to host activities, meetings, and informal gatherings. Each floor also has a lounge with a kitchenette and additional amenities.

University Tower

This building offers spacious double and triple occupancy rooms with an in-room, private bathroom. A lounge with a pool table is available for guests on the second floor of the building. Groups staying for 30 days or more have the option for a reduced single room rate, which includes a microwave and mini-refrigerator with freezer.

Riverwalk Apartments

These fully furnished apartments, available in two- and four-bedroom options, include a private bedroom, semi-private bathroom, shared living room, full kitchen, and in-unit washer and dryer. Our apartments offer a balance between the community experience and individual, private living.

Riverwalk Apartments are equipped with:

Private, lockable bedrooms with a full-size bed (linens are available for an additional charge).
Kitchen equipped with refrigerator, oven/range, and microwave.
Living area including soft seating, side tables, entertainment stand, and dining table with chairs.

Wired and wireless internet
Access to free laundry machines
24/7 on-call customer service
Residential spaces secured by card access
Campus security provided by IU Police Department

On-campus parking permits are available at both a daily and monthly rate.
Fitness passes providing access to in-facility and campus fitness centers for a one-time fee.
Linen packages including blanket, pillow, pillowcase, two sheets, bath towel, hand towel, and wash cloth is available for a weekly rate.
MicroFridges which are a combination microwave, refrigerator, and freezer with advanced safety features are available for a weekly rental in residence hall facilities.
Affiliate internet account which provides access to the university’s wireless network (provides enhanced speed, performance, and security).

*Certain amenities can be billed to a conference group or purchased by an individual guest.

Eligibility

Completion of the Summer Conference Housing interest form.
All agreements must be completed by a company, group, or organization that can be billed directly and provide required insurance. Individual billing is not available.
Individuals and groups of any size are eligible to apply with appropriate company or organization sponsorship.
Non-IU affiliated groups must provide a certificate of insurance and a W-9.
Riverwalk Apartments facility has a 30-night rental minimum.

Rates

Rates are determined on an annual basis by the Indiana University Board of Trustees and therefore may not be set at the time of initial inquiry. Please complete our Summer Conference Housing interest form for more information about costs. An estimated cost summary can be provided by the Summer Conference Housing staff, along with a courtesy hold on dates and spaces, until rates have been confirmed.

Rates are provided on a per person/per night basis for the dates requested in the inquiry. Indiana University is required to collect taxes based on the Indiana University Sales Tax Collection Matrix for conference groups staying less than 30 days.
